Claire is a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT), which works to promote high standards of education, training, practice and integrity in the nutrition profession. She is also registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) whose key function is to enhance public protection by setting standards for registration.
Claire has always had an interest in health and healthy eating – health and fitness are of paramount importance to her and her family. After a long term interest in nutrition she decided to become a nutritional therapist after witnessing the benefits of nutritional therapy on her own health and well-being after 20 years in the financial services sector, where stress and the ability to eat on the run were almost seen as prerequisites for promotion. Re-training and gaining formal nutritional qualifications, first-hand experience of combining a healthy lifestyle with a busy, stressful job and motherhood convinced her that she could help others!
Claire has a particular interest in energy management and nutrition for sports performance and has delivered talks to sports scholars and provided additional nutritional information for students undertaking BTEC Sports & Exercise within their Sports Nutrition module as well as having a number of clients who want to improve their performance.
